Yuzu Roasted Green Tea

The aromatic yuzu, carefully selected to avoid bitterness, blends beautifully with the rich, roasted flavor of roasted green tea. Carefully selected ingredients for Yuzu Roasted Green Tea
The roasted green tea “Horai” stands out among the six types of roasted green tea offered by Nabeshimameicha for its particularly rich roasted aroma. Using second flush tea leaves from Kyoto and Gifu Prefecture, it is meticulously roasted at high temperatures, softening the unique bitterness of green tea and achieving a smoother flavor. The green yuzu from Kochi Prefecture is harvested when it is still green, just after the flowers have fallen, capturing its fresh aroma before full ripeness. Only the peel of the yuzu is dried and finely cut for blending, ensuring that the blend maintains the fresh, vibrant fragrance of yuzu.

As our first blended tea introduced to the market with great passion, it has been loved by many of our customers.
Carefully selected lemon harvest season
We carefully determine the optimal harvest time for lemons and request harvesting specifically for Nabeshimameicha’s tea leaves. The lemons’ balanced harmony and mild bitterness are perfectly blended with coarse tea from Shizuoka Prefecture.

We are dedicated to using domestic herbs, such as spearmint from Chiba Prefecture and lemongrass from Shizuoka Prefecture, carefully cultivated to ensure high quality. We consistently source these premium herbs. Using Japanese-style black tea from Gifu Prefecture, we blend it with a subtle black tea that enhances the distinct flavors of the herbs.

The challenge of creating beloved flavored teas
At Nabeshimameicha, we are driven by a strong desire to create unique flavored teas that only we can offer. This passion actually started a few years ago when I first tasted lemons grown by Mr. Watanabe, who was cultivating dragon fruit in Okuhida. When I dried the peel of the lemons he gave me and added it to tea, I was truly amazed by the wonderful aroma. However, I couldn’t achieve the same fragrance with lemons bought from the supermarket. After much experimentation, I discovered that lemon peel harvested at a specific time produced the most aromatic scent. Based on this finding, I created a blend that maximizes the aroma and slight bitterness of the lemons. This process wasn’t easy. We were committed to using domestic ingredients, peeling the lemons by hand, and continually adjusting the blend ratios to pursue the ideal taste and aroma. After two years of effort, we finally created Lemon Green Tea that we are proud to offer. Nabeshimameicha’s flavored teas do not use any artificial flavorings, instead, we bring out the natural taste and aroma of the ingredients themselves. Every time we receive compliments from customers, such as “easy to drink” and “delicious,” we feel that our efforts have paid off.
